Welcome!
Unless advised otherwise, your room will be ready by 4pm. (It can take a while to clean all the rooms after the previous guests depart).
If you arrive before 4pm, you can drop your bags in the boot room and head out for a ski or into town or use the hot tub until the room is ready.
Check out is at 10am, unless late checkout is previously arranged.
Ian and Natasha can often be found in their room off the kitchen, or you can call them at (250) 231-4310. Please have a look at the front door when you arrive - if they have to go out, they will probably leave you a note on the door indicating your room number.
Please don't take outdoor shoes upstairs, but leave them in the boot room. This way, other guests walking around in their socks don't get wet feet, and the carpet isn't damaged.
The breakfast bell will be rung at 0730. If you come in at 0715 to get a cup of coffee, that's great, but the cooked meal won't be ready until 0730. For those cat skiing, this is usually a good amount of time. If you aren't cat skiing and prefer to sleep in past breakfast, there will be an assortment of granola and fruit, toast, juide, and coffee available, but the hot meal is at 0730.
The hot tub and sauna building is next door just south of the inn. You'll want to wear your coat and boots to get there - there is a change room and shower. Don't forget to take your towel. Please don't take any glass, as that can be hazardous.
The wi-fi ID and password is written on top of the router by the TV. It works in the inn - if you are in the cabin, it is blocked by the metal roof and snow, but you can send and receive from the front porch.
You may notice Paula's keg in the boot room. She's happy to share, but please toss a couple of bucks in the hat whenever you draw a glass, so that she can continue to share.
If you need any extra shampoo or towels, or if you have a nosebleed on your sheets and need a linen exchange, please just ask. There is no daily maid service in your rooms, but long-stay guests will get weekly cleaning.
Hopefully these guidelines will help you to enjoy your stay!

Bookings for the winter season (ie when the lifts are running at Red Mountain Resort) must be accompanied by a 30% deposit. The deposit is not refundable, though if cancelled more than 30 days in arrival, it may be allocated to a different reservation for lodging or cat skiing at Big Red Cats within 2 years.
The remainder is due at least 30 days prior to arrival. At this time, the full amount becomes non refundable. Date changes will be permitted, but only within the same winter season, subject to availability.
You might wish to purchase travel insurance including trip cancellation, such as that sold through Sanderson Travel Insurance.
In the spring, summer, and fall, reservations may be cancelled up to 48 hours in advance, and while payment information is requested at the time of booking, the amount will not be billed until check in. For cancellations within 48 hours, a $50 fee will be charged.

The Red Shutter Inn is right at the base of Red Mountain ski resort, at 4420 Red Mountain Rd.
When you enter the resort, head towards the lifts. You'll see the Red Shutter on your right, just past the Big Red Cats office in the Red Robs condo building. If you get to the roundabout, you've gone too far. There is limited parking, but guests should get a spot in front, or at the very least in the lot across the road.
It is usually possible to ski right in to the Red Shutter Inn, once you've been shown the way (take the path behind the maintenance shed)
