Ian
Lockey wins Canada and USA adaptive snowboard
titles!
We
are very proud to announce that our lodge manager, Ian, has had
a VERY good year. After marrying the love of his life, Natasha
Miles, at the top of Granite, he then won gold at the Canadian
adaptive snowboard championships, and to top it off, won gold
in FIVE events at the US adaptive snowboard competition - GS,
half-pipe, boardercross, and more! The guy's on fire, and he's
on our team! Make sure to watch for him in the 2010 Paralympics!
Red Shutter Inn the
Official Lodge of Big Red Cats
Probably
no surprise, but we now officially call the Shutter the Big Red
Cats lodge. While BRC guests are welcome to stay elsewhere, and
Red Shutter guests aren't obliged to go cat skiing, there are
specially priced packages for those who combine the two, and the
Shutter is the ideal place to stay, as it is the location of the
morning briefing, offers an early breakfast, and is a great place
to linger over coffee if you're doing multiple cat days and can
skip the first part of the briefing after the first day. We will
be filling the walls of the lodge with photos of our guides and
guests enjoying deep powder. 6 rooms with 2 beds per room make
it an ideal location for a group of 12 cat-skiers, with a real
wood stove, hot tub, sauna, dart board, and big cooked breakfast,
make it an experience to repeat often!
And
of course, BRC's namesake, Big Red the cat, is still purrfectly
at home at the Shutter.
Long-term
renters welcome in the off-season
We
offer excellent value long-term lodging in the off-season - rent
the cabin for only $800/month (including utilities), or a room
in the lodge for half of that!
